ORANGE COUNTY, CA – – Today Undersheriff Don Barnes announced receiving the endorsement of the Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs. The endorsement of the more than 2,800 members of the association is a major announcement in the election for Sheriff. Undersheriff Barnes has previously announced receiving the endorsement of Sheriff Sandra Hutchens.

Undersheriff Barnes has nearly three decades of experience in keeping Orange County residents safe since being hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 1989. Since then Barnes has served at almost every level of the department eventually working his way up to be the Chief Operating Officer of the fifth largest Sheriff’s Department in the country in 2016.
The election for Sheriff will be in conjunction with California’s Statewide Primary election on June 5, 2018.
